Picardy is a historical region located in northern France. It is bordered by the English Channel to the north, which includes a coastline that features notable ports such as Calais and Dieppe. To the south, it is bordered by the regions of Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France. Historically, Picardy has been significant because of its agricultural wealth, strategic location, and as a battleground during various wars, most notably in World War I.
