"A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace" is a landmark manifesto written by John Perry Barlow in February 1996. Barlow, a co-founder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), wrote this declaration as a response to the increasing governmental regulation and control of the internet and digital spaces.
