Gregory Benford

Gregory Benford is an American astrophysicist and science fiction author. He is best known for his work in both fields, having published numerous scientific papers as well as a variety of science fiction novels. Benford has a Ph.D. in plasma physics and has worked on projects related to energy research and space science.
